COMFORT
COMFORT is a research project funded by the European Union through the Horizon 2020 programme.
The project aims to fill important knowledge gaps about how human-caused climate change affects the ocean. It uses a cross-disciplinary approach to help decision-makers with:
- Defining safe ways to use the ocean,
- Setting better climate goals,
- Finding realistic long-term solutions to reduce climate change.
COMFORT focuses on three major threats to the ocean:
- Warming,
- Loss of oxygen,
- Ocean acidification.
It explores how we can best respond to these challenges.
